This exceptional hotel is in the Lower Mustang area, which is a gateway to Upper Mustang, once the Forbidden Kingdom of Nepal. This magical and spiritual destination with its dramatic landscapes is hidden in the Kali Gandaki valley between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges.
The 29 sustainably designed suites measure 45 square metres with floor to ceiling windows, offering staggering views of the Nilgiri range. Impeccably decorated by Bill Bensley, with all the modern comforts you’d expect from Shinta Mani. The aesthetic draws from local Tibetan art and imagery with flashes of bold colour. Designer blankets, Tibetan rugs handmade in Nepal and stylish wooden furnishings create a combination of timeless design and luxuriant comfort.
Elegantly designed interiors, utilise local materials, hand- picked art and rich textiles, creating an ambience of opulence and comfort. Original architect, Prabal Thapa, set this stone structure into the local landscape, almost camouflaged on the mountainside.
The Nilgiri restaurant boasts breath-taking views of its namesake, sourcing the majority of its fresh ingredients locally to serve organic, seasonal flavours while supporting the surrounding community. The outdoor terrace provides comfortable seating and huge fire pits for guests to sit and revel in the magnificence of the Nilgiri range.
